The rule: drop the temperature by about 20 °C (25 °F) and cut the
time by roughly 20%, because an air fryer is a small convection oven —
fast-moving hot air cooks quicker. Check early the first time and shake or
flip food halfway.
How air-fryer conversion works
An air fryer is essentially a compact fan (convection) oven. Like any fan oven it
runs more efficiently, so recipes written for a conventional oven need a lower
temperature and a shorter time:
Temperature: reduce by ~20 °C / 25 °F.
Time: reduce by ~20% (multiply by 0.8).
Don't overcrowd the basket — air needs to circulate.

so check for doneness before relying on the timer.
