How to convert oven temperatures
Celsius to Fahrenheit: multiply by 9, divide by 5, then add 32
(°F = °C × 9 ⁄ 5 + 32). Fahrenheit to Celsius: subtract 32, multiply by 5,
divide by 9.
Conventional to fan: subtract about 20 °C. So a recipe at 200 °C conventional
becomes roughly 180 °C in a fan oven. Gas marks are a UK/Commonwealth scale
running from ¼ (very cool, ~110 °C) up to 9 (very hot, ~240 °C); each step up is
roughly 14 °C / 25 °F.
Different ovens vary, so treat conversions as a starting point and use an oven
thermometer for precision baking.
